Interim Virtual Solo Exhibition 3

This exhibition was for my third interim show, however this time it was a solo online exhibition but still using Artsteps as I had previously.

I wasn’t sure which images I wanted to use, hence why I didn’t include many, which was a mistake as it would’ve looked better and filled the space more with more images. I experimented with different layouts for the room, I decided to make my own rather than use an existing template so I could plan the room better. I tested out different sizes and floors (patterns) and then settled on ones I liked.

From my feedback, I think I could’ve used more images in the exhibition, curated them across the room better, and also made the floor pattern plain as it is a bit distracting.

“Long Hair, Don’t Care”- A self-portraiture project exploring the female body as a rejection of the objectifying gaze that uses domestic objects and performative self-portraiture. Props and colour in the domestic setups construct an idea of how the female body is viewed by society. The project aims to challenge the objectifying gaze and hiding the face with the hair, while domestic tasks and acts are performed is giving the subject control over their body and self.
